Xyzal (levocetirizine) 

Indications

Xyzal is a histamine H1-receptor antagonist indicated for: 

• The relief of symptoms associated with perennial allergic rhinitis. 
• The treatment of uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria. 

Dosage and Administration

• Take Xyzal exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose.

Contraindications

• Patients with end-stage renal disease with creatinine clearance less than 10 mL/min or those undergoing hemodialysis. 
• Children aged 6 months to 11 years with renal impairment.

• Drowsiness 
• Fatigue 
• Dry mouth 

Serious Side Effects: 

• Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing) 
• Urinary retention 

Precautions

• Avoid activities that require complete mental alertness, like driving or operating machinery, while taking Xyzal. 
• Don’t consume alcohol or other central nervous system depressants while using Xyzal. 
• If you have conditions that make you more prone to urinary retention, like spinal cord lesions or an enlarged prostate, use Xyzal with caution. Stop using it if you experience urinary retention. 

Storage Instructions

Store at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F); temporary variations allowed between 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).
