Pennsaid (diclofenac sodium)
Indications
Pennsaid solution is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used topically for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain in certain joints, such as the knees.
Dosage and Administration
- Shake the Pennsaid bottle well before use.
- Apply a few drops of Pennsaid directly onto the affected knee(s).
- Gently rub the solution into the skin until it is completely absorbed.

- Do not apply Pennsaid to broken, irritated, or infected skin.
- Avoid covering the treated area with bandages or tight clothing immediately after application.

Mechanism of Action
Pennsaid contains Diclofenac Sodium, which belongs to a class of medications called NSAIDs. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that play a role in inflammation and pain. By reducing inflammation in the joint, Pennsaid helps relieve osteoarthritis pain.
