Pazeo (olopatadine)
Indications
- Pazeo solution is prescribed for the treatment of ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis (eye allergies) in patients aged 2 years and older.
- It helps relieve symptoms such as itching, redness, and watering of the eyes caused by allergens like pollen, pet dander, and dust mites.
Dosage and Administration:
- Wash your hands before using Pazeo solution.
- Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening, as directed by your healthcare provider.
- Blink a few times to distribute the medication evenly.
- Replace the cap tightly after each use to prevent contamination.
- Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, including your eye or hands, to avoid contamination.
- Avoid wearing contact lenses if your eyes are red or irritated before using Pazeo. Wait at least 10 minutes after using the drops before reinserting your lenses.
- Do not use Pazeo solution if the liquid has changed color or if it appears cloudy.
Mechanism of Action
Pazeo solution belongs to a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking histamine receptors in the eyes, which reduces the allergic response and alleviates symptoms such as itching and redness.
