Indications

Casodex is used to treat: 

• Advanced prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and is at an advanced stage (Stage D2). 

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

• Hepatic Monitoring: Severe hepatic injury and fatal hepatic failure have been observed. Monitor serum transaminase levels before starting treatment, regularly for the first four months, and periodically thereafter. Watch for symptoms of liver dysfunction.
• Anticoagulant Interaction: Use Casodex with caution in patients taking coumarin anticoagulants. Monitor Prothrombin Time (PT) and International Normalized Ratio (INR) closely, and adjust the anticoagulant dose as needed.
• Gynecomastia and Breast Pain: Gynecomastia and breast pain have been reported during treatment, particularly when Casodex is used as a single agent.
• Glucose Monitoring: LHRH agonists used in combination with Casodex may reduce your glucose tolerance. Monitor blood glucose levels in patients receiving this combination.
• PSA Monitoring: Regularly monitor Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) levels. You should evaluate clinical progression if PSA levels increase.

Storage Instructions
