Aptiom (eslicarbazepine acetate) 

Indications 

  • Aptiom is used to treat partial-onset seizures in adults and children aged 4 years and older with epilepsy. 
  • It helps to control and reduce the frequency of seizures. 

Dosage and Administration 

  • Take Aptiom exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily. 
  • Swallow the tablet whole with or without food. 
  • Take your doses at the same time each day to maintain an even level of medication in your body. 
  • Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions. 
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding regular blood tests to monitor your health while on Aptiom. 
  • Do not take more than the prescribed dose.

Mechanism of Action 

Aptiom contains Eslicarbazepine Acetate, which is an antiepileptic drug. It works by stabilizing the electrical activity in the brain, preventing the excessive firing of neurons that leads to seizures. By reducing the frequency of these abnormal signals, Aptiom helps control seizures. 

Contraindications
