Dulera Inhaler (mometasone furoate/formoterol fumarate)
Indications
Dulera Inhaler is used for treating asthma in patients aged 12 years and older who require both an inhaled corticosteroid and a long-acting beta agonist (LABA) for asthma control.
Dosage and Administration
- Use Dulera Inhaler exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Shake the inhaler well before each use.
- Inhale the prescribed dose by mouth, usually twice daily.
- Rinse your mouth with water after using the inhaler to reduce the risk of thrush or oral fungal infections.
- Keep track of the number of doses used and replace the inhaler when empty.
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage or frequency of use without consulting your doctor.
- Do not use Dulera Inhaler for sudden asthma attacks or acute bronchospasm. Use a rescue inhaler for immediate relief of symptoms.
- Avoid using other long-acting beta agonists or inhaled corticosteroids without consulting your doctor.
Mechanism of Action
Dulera Inhaler contains two active ingredients:
- Mometasone (an inhaled corticosteroid) reduces inflammation in the airways, thereby preventing asthma symptoms.
- Formoterol (a long-acting beta agonist) relaxes the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe and preventing asthma attacks.
Contraindications
- Do not use Dulera Inhaler if you are allergic to Mometasone, Formoterol, or any other ingredients in the inhaler.
- Avoid using Dulera Inhaler for the treatment of acute bronchospasm or status asthmaticus.
