Mechanism of Action
Bromfenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the enzymes (cyclooxygenase-1 and -2) responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemicals in the body that cause inflammation and pain. By reducing their production, Prolensa helps decrease inflammation and pain following eye surgery.

- Avoid if you have a history of asthma or allergic reactions triggered by NSAIDs.
