Indications

Wellbutrin is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) 

Dosage and Administration

• Begin treatment with 150 mg once daily in the morning. After 3 days, increase the dose to 300 mg per day, given as 150 mg twice daily, with at least 8 hours between doses. 
• Take doses at the same time each day to maintain an even level of the medication in your body. 
• Swallow Wellbutrin tablets whole.

Contraindications

• Do not use Wellbutrin if you have a seizure disorder. 
• Avoid using Wellbutrin if you have a current or past diagnosis of bulimia or anorexia nervosa. 
• If you’re undergoing abrupt discontinuation of alcohol, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or antiepileptic drugs, it’s best to avoid using Wellbutrin. 
• Don’t use Wellbutrin if you have known hypersensitivity to bupropion or any components of the product.
